Monday 16th August – bike *** – Two river – Orwell to the Deben – cloudy with showers and breezy to start with.

Was tempted by a windsurfing session at Levington today if the wind had been WNW but it was NW properly too off there so after doing my exercises I decided to head out on the bike. With wind gusting to 20 knots Mag decided to give it a miss, I can’t blame her as cooler today, cloudy with the threat of rain! Down through Langer Park and onto Felixstowe view point spotting windsurfing mate Robert leaving Felixstowe after a walk along the prom. Then back through Landguard Nature Reserve and all the way along the prom with several people about despite the poor weather, with the wind being dead offshore it was quite pleasant with several in the water too. Around to the prom at The Dip, as usual much quieter down that end, before stopping at The Ferry for a snack. Out onto the Deben path turning off at Kings Fleet taking Marsh Lane. There was combine but it had just finished the field he was working, so I stopped and asked when they were cutting the wheat in the field with the delict house and it will be next week. Then through the woods at the Grove now spoilt by the building site at the back. The rain had started was it was not too hard so only got slightly wet getting home after two hours out covering a little over 13 miles. With the rain stopped after lunch Mag and I went for a quick walk along the prom.
